Visiting the website

When you visit the site, the web server processes technically necessary access data, in particular your IP address, time and requested resource, referrer, and information about your browser and operating system. This is required to deliver and secure the website and is based on my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for this purpose.

Theme preference

Your chosen light or dark appearance is stored in your browser under the key theme so it carries over to future visits. You can delete this entry at any time in your browser settings. It is not a cookie.

Web analytics with Umami

The Umami script is loaded from u.p8x.de. Umami processes information including the page URL, page title, referrer, browser language, and screen size. It also determines information about the browser, operating system, device, and country of origin for statistics; your IP address is transmitted to the service when a connection is established. Umami states that it anonymizes analytics data and does not use cookies in its tracking script.

Analytics are used to understand how the website is used and its reach, and to improve the service. The legal basis is my legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data is processed on the Umami instance; retention depends on its storage and deletion settings.

Contact

If you contact me by email or telephone, I process the information you provide to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if the enquiry concerns a contract or pre-contractual measures; otherwise it is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is deleted once the enquiry has been fully handled and no retention obligations apply.

Your rights

You may request access to your stored data and its rectification, erasure, or restriction of processing. Where the legal requirements are met, you also have the right to data portability and may object to processing on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For enquiries, please email mail@fabian-martin.de.
